Glass Repair & Installation on the Northshore

From Mandeville to Covington to Madisonville, we serve the whole Northshore from our Gretna shop — and because we quote from a photo first, the Causeway never slows your estimate down.

The Northshore is a straight shot across Lake Pontchartrain — the Causeway lands you right in Mandeville — but a 24-mile bridge is exactly why picture quoting matters here. Instead of waiting for someone to drive across the lake just to look at a cracked window, you text us a photo and we send back a real estimate the same day, then we plan the trip and bring the right glass with us. Star Glass has served St. Tammany since 1996: lakefront homes in Old Mandeville, the storefronts along Columbia Street in downtown Covington, and the river houses out in Madisonville. (Looking for Slidell specifically? See our Slidell page for Olde Towne and the Eden Isles waterfront.)

Glass services we provide across the Northshore

  • Residential window & glass replacement — Broken panes and foggy double-pane (IGU) units in Mandeville and Covington neighborhoods — that haze between the panes is a failed seal, and usually only the glass needs replacing. Glass replacement
  • Lakefront & large-pane glass — Old Mandeville’s homes face Lake Pontchartrain across Lakeshore Drive, with big water-facing windows that take wind and salt air; we replace them and can talk through impact-rated options for exposed openings.
  • Commercial storefronts — Downtown Covington’s arts district along Columbia Street is full of galleries, shops, and restaurants whose storefront glass, display windows, and entrance doors we keep in service — glass-only or full-system, plus emergency board-up. Storefront glass installation · Commercial glass repair
  • Frameless shower enclosures — Designed, measured, and installed for Northshore renovations; price your layout with our online Shower Designer.
  • Mirrors, tabletops & cut-to-size glass — Custom mirrors and glass cut to your exact dimensions. Custom mirrors · Cut-to-size glass
  • Auto glass & windshields — Chip and crack repair, full windshield replacement with ADAS recalibration, and we file the insurance claim. Auto glass repair & replacement
  • Marine glass (by quote) — Out on the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville there’s a real boating community, and we can quote marine glass projects on the water when they come up.

Glass across the Northshore: town by town

The Northshore isn’t one place, and the glass work changes from town to town.

Mandeville is lakefront living. In Old Mandeville, the historic district near the lake, homes line Lakeshore Drive with wide water-facing windows that take everything Lake Pontchartrain throws at them — wind, salt, and the occasional storm — so we replace a lot of large residential panes here and walk owners through impact-rated and laminated options where it makes sense. On the commercial side, we installed new hurricane-rated impact storefronts and entrances for Lakeshore Shell at 501 North Causeway Boulevard — right on the Causeway that connects us to the Northshore.

Covington is where the work tilts commercial. The downtown arts district along Columbia Street — galleries, antique shops, and restaurants near the Bogue Falaya and the Covington Trailhead, and home to the Three Rivers Art Festival each November — runs on storefront glass: display windows, entrance doors, and after-hours board-up when something breaks and a shop can’t sit open overnight. We built new interior-and-exterior storefront entrances and glass systems for On Path’s Covington branch on East 32nd Street, and fabricated and installed a custom glass display case on East Boston Street downtown.

Madisonville is a river town. Sitting on the Tchefuncte River, it’s a mix of riverfront homes that need window and door glass and a boating community where marine glass comes up. Our keystone Madisonville project was at the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum, where we replaced five broken insulated-glass units — reaching the high openings with a 40-foot boom lift. Fittingly, the same museum operates the Tchefuncte River Lighthouse (the Madisonville Lighthouse), built in 1837 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places — a nice bit of local history for a town this tied to the water. On the residential side, we can also quote marine glass projects on the Tchefuncte when they come up.

With the lake between us, the smart first move anywhere on the Northshore is the same: text a photo, get a price, and we’ll make the trip count.

Why Star Glass for the Northshore

We’ve been a family-run Louisiana glass shop since 1996, serving the whole metro — the Westbank, the city, and across the lake on the Northshore. We’re an approved insurance vendor, our techs are ADAS-certified for late-model vehicles, and we’re licensed and insured. 4.6 stars on Google. What makes the Causeway a non-issue is how we work: you text a photo, we quote it the same day, and we arrive with the right glass — no wasted estimator trip, no waiting around.

Frequently asked questions

Do you really come across the Causeway to the Northshore?

Yes — we serve Mandeville, Covington, Madisonville, and the rest of St. Tammany. The difference is how we start: instead of driving across the lake just to look, we quote from a photo you text us, then make the trip with the right glass already on the truck. It saves you days and saves a wasted visit.

Do you replace glass on Old Mandeville lakefront homes?

Yes — those big water-facing windows on and around Lakeshore Drive are some of what we replace most in Mandeville, and we can talk through impact-rated and laminated options for the openings that face the lake. Text a photo of the window and we’ll price it.

Can you handle storefront glass for a shop in downtown Covington?

Yes. The Columbia Street arts district and the rest of downtown Covington run on storefront glass, and we do display windows, entrance doors, glass-only or full-system replacement, and after-hours emergency board-up. Send a photo and we’ll get you a price and a plan.

I’m in Slidell — is that you too?

Yes, but Slidell has its own page. For Olde Towne’s historic windows and the Eden Isles waterfront, head to our Slidell page.

Do you handle auto-glass insurance claims?

Yes. We’re an approved vendor and in most cases bill your insurer directly.
