Terms & Conditions - Flat Glass
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all quotes, orders, and services provided by Star Glass, Inc. (“Star Glass,” “we,” “us”). By accepting a quote or placing an order, you (“Customer”) agree to these Terms in full.
1. Quote Validity
- All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise noted.
- Prices are subject to change if scope, size, or configuration changes after the quote is issued.
- This quote covers only the items specifically described. Any additions or changes require a revised written quote.
2. Deposit & Payment
- A deposit is required before work is scheduled. The deposit amount is specified in your account terms.
- The remaining balance is due upon completion of work.
- We accept check, ACH bank transfer, and credit/debit card. A 3% processing fee applies to all card transactions.
- A $35.00 fee will be charged for each returned check.
- Unpaid balances accrue interest at the maximum rate allowed by Louisiana law. Customer agrees to pay all reasonable collection costs including attorney’s fees if collection action is required.
3. Scheduling & Trips
- Work will be scheduled upon receipt of the required deposit.
- One field measurement trip and one installation trip per project are included in the quoted price.
- Field measurements will be taken once the installation area is confirmed ready.
- Additional trips required due to unready conditions, inaccessibility, or other delays not caused by Star Glass will be charged at $125.00 per trip.
- If a confirmed appointment must be cancelled, we require at least one full business day’s notice. Late cancellations may result in a trip charge and scheduling delays.
- Normal working hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Evening and weekend work is not included unless specifically quoted.
4. Materials & Tolerances
- All glass and materials are furnished in accordance with industry tolerances for color variation, thickness (±1/8″), texture, and performance standards.
- Star Glass is not responsible for replacement insulated glass (IG) spacer bands that do not align exactly with the window frame line. We will make reasonable efforts to conceal any visible spacer with caulking; a visible spacer will not be grounds for rejection of the unit.
- Lead times are provided in good faith based on supplier information and are subject to change without notice. Star Glass is not responsible for delays caused by suppliers or manufacturers.
5. Customer-Provided Measurements
- When a quote is based on customer-provided measurements, the price is subject to change upon field verification.
- Star Glass is not responsible for any errors, discrepancies, or additional costs arising from inaccurate customer-provided measurements.
6. Scope Exclusions
Unless explicitly included in the written quote, the following are excluded from all Star Glass scopes of work:
- Final protection and cleaning
- Glass or mirror breakage caused by others
- Testing, engineering, permits, and bonds
- Demolition or temporary enclosures
- Repairs or modification of existing openings or frames
- Core drilling for floor closures
- Any electrical work
- Once approved, Star Glass submittals shall take precedence over plans and/or specifications in the event of a conflict.
7. Removal of Existing Materials
- Removal of existing materials may cause incidental damage to surrounding surfaces or expose underlying structural issues. Star Glass assumes no responsibility for damage that occurs during or as a result of removal.
- Any additional trips required due to issues discovered during removal will be charged at $125.00 per trip.
8. Shower & Tile Installations
- Star Glass is not responsible for damage to glass or porcelain tiles during shower door installation. If tile breakage occurs, the Customer is responsible for repair before Star Glass returns to complete installation. A return trip fee will apply.
- We recommend avoiding decorative glass tiles in the areas where shower door hardware will be attached.
9. Inspection & Acceptance
- All glass and mirror products must be inspected at the time of pick-up, delivery, or installation.
- Star Glass is not responsible for glass or mirror once it has left our premises or has been accepted after delivery or installation.
10. Packing & Transport
- Items up to 48″ × 48″ will be wrapped in brown paper. Items larger than 48″ × 48″ will not be packed or wrapped unless packing is specifically requested and quoted at time of order.
- It is the Customer’s responsibility to bring a suitable vehicle and to load materials. Star Glass and its agents will not load vehicles and are not liable for damage to vehicles, personal property, or bodily injury during loading or transport.
- All freight (common carrier) shipments are curbside delivery only.
11. Warranty & Liability
- Star Glass warrants all labor for one (1) year from the date of installation. For product-specific manufacturer warranties, please contact your Star Glass sales representative.
- Star Glass is not responsible for damage to its work caused by others, nor for any special, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Star Glass is not responsible for pre-existing structural issues that may interfere with installation or result in unsightly reveals. Any structural modifications required before, during, or after installation are the Customer’s sole responsibility.
- If dimensions are changed after Star Glass has completed its field measurement and those changes result in inability to install, additional fabrication and labor charges will apply.
12. Final Sales & Returns
- All sales that include glass or custom hardware are final. No refunds, returns, exchanges, or store credit will be issued.
- Any items returned for credit must be in resaleable condition, authorized in advance, accompanied by the original receipt, and may be subject to a restocking fee. Special orders and cut flat glass are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
13. Contractor Terms
- Contractor and Star Glass will jointly review and agree to the project schedule prior to commencement.
- If any invoice submitted by Star Glass to Contractor remains unpaid for more than 60 days, Star Glass may, at its option, demobilize from the project and is not required to resume work until the outstanding invoice is paid in full.
- If Contractor asserts nonpayment due to nonpayment from Owner, Star Glass reserves the right to contact the Owner directly regarding payment status.
- Both parties waive claims for consequential damages against each other arising from this agreement.
- In any legal proceeding to enforce these Terms, the prevailing party is entitled to recover reasonable attorney’s fees and court costs from the other party.
14. Changes to These Terms
- Star Glass reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes are effective when approved and signed by two or more Star Glass managers. No modifications by redlining, initialing, or other markings on quotes or documents are valid unless expressly authorized in writing.
