When you talk to as many customers as we do every week, the same questions come up over and over. Most of these have straightforward answers — but most glass company websites bury them or don’t address them at all.
Here are the ten questions we answer most often, answered straight.
1. How much does a frameless shower cost?
Most residential frameless showers run between $1,200 and $3,500, depending on size, glass thickness, hardware finish, and any upgrades (low-iron glass, glass treatments, etc.). A simple single-door layout under 36″ wide with 3/8″ standard glass and chrome hardware sits at the low end. Larger configurations with premium glass and matte black hardware push higher.

2. Do you do mobile auto glass?
Yes. We come to you across the New Orleans metro — Metairie, Kenner, the Westbank, Northshore, Slidell, and everywhere in between. Most windshield replacements can happen in a parking lot, driveway, or at your office. We’ll let you know if your specific job requires you to come to the shop.
3. Can you handle my insurance directly?
Yes. We work with all major insurance carriers for auto glass claims. You don’t write a check, you don’t file paperwork — we coordinate the whole thing. For residential and commercial claims, we provide all documentation needed for your claim, but the policyholder typically files those.
4. How long does a shower install take?
From the day you accept the quote: about 1-2 weeks for measurement, glass fabrication, and install. The install itself usually takes 1-2 hours on site. Most people are surprised it goes that fast — the fabrication is the longest part.
5. Do you replace just the glass on existing windows?
Often, yes. If your window frame is in good shape but the glass is cracked, or the seal has failed, we can replace just the glass insert. This is significantly cheaper than full window replacement. Send us a photo, and we’ll tell you whether the frame can be reused.

6. Can I get an exact quote without you coming out?
For most projects: yes. Text us a clear photo and any specific measurements you can get, and we’ll send a quote — usually same day. For complex commercial work or anything with structural complications, we’ll need to come look. But the photo gets us most of the way for the vast majority of jobs.
7. What’s the difference between OEM and aftermarket auto glass?
OEM glass is made by the same manufacturer that supplied your original windshield. Aftermarket is made by a different manufacturer to the same specifications. Both are safe and code-compliant. OEM costs more. Aftermarket is what most insurance policies default to. We’ll use whichever you prefer.
8. Can shower glass that’s gotten “foggy” be cleaned?
If it’s soap scum or mineral buildup on the surface, yes — vinegar-based cleaners or commercial soap scum removers can restore it. If it’s etching (permanent damage to the glass surface from hard water), no. Etched glass usually needs replacement. There’s an easy test: if cleaning doesn’t restore it, it’s etched.
9. Do you do commercial work?
Yes. We’ve handled commercial glass for over 30 years — storefronts, curtainwall, entry systems, glass partitions, doors, and large multi-pane installations. Licensed (LA #59105), bonded, DBE-WBE certified.
