A glass top protects the surface beneath it while preserving the look of the original table. Wood tables, in particular, benefit from glass protection in the humid New Orleans climate — moisture, food spills, and heat can damage wood over time, and a glass top prevents all of that while still showing off the table beneath.
Glass table tops can also be used to refresh an older table that has surface damage — scratches, stains, or fading — by covering the surface with a clean, clear glass panel.
Thickness and Glass Type Options
For table tops, the most common glass thicknesses are 1/4″ (6mm) for smaller tables and lighter applications, 3/8″ (10mm) for most standard dining and coffee tables, and 1/2″ (12mm) for large tables or applications requiring extra rigidity. All tabletop glass is tempered for safety.

Edge Finish Options
The edge finish affects both the look and safety of the glass. Polished edges are smooth, clear, and the most common choice. Beveled edges add a decorative, angled border that catches light. Flat polished edges are a clean, simple option for a contemporary look. All of our cut glass has finished edges — we don’t leave raw cut edges on glass.

Glass shelves are popular in bathrooms, display cases, retail environments, wine storage, and anywhere a clean, open look is preferred over solid shelving. They let light pass through, which makes spaces feel less cluttered.
